The International Master in Service Engineering (IMSE) is NOT a set of courses intended to train service engineers of home appliances, refrigerators or other consumer electronics.
Instead, IMSE is a challenging and cutting-edge Master’s program for students with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems or Information Technology/Computer Science.
IMSE being designed at the interface of software service systems and business processes, prepares students in becoming the thought leaders and entrepreneurs in emerging technologies such as cloud and service computing.
This full-time English-taught program totals 120 ECTS credits and is jointly given at the University of Tilburg (Netherlands), the University of Stuttgart (Germany) and Univesity of Crete (Greece).
Completing the program leads to a Master’s degree in Services Science.
|Service Science and Engineering
The trend is for organizations to offer business services through the Internet in the form of software services , which are enterprise ‘assets’ that can include software, such as a program that automates specific business processes.Today, Services Science and Engineering entails a rapidly growing discipline that captures momentum related to service economy growth, the global need for service innovation, and the accompanying demands for service research and education.
Services Science and Engineering (SSE) is an interdisciplinary approach to the study, design, and implementation of services systems, which are complex systems in which specific arrangements of people and technologies adopt actions that generate value for others.
It focuses not on any single aspect of service but on service as a system of interacting parts encompassing people, technology and business.
IMSE is delivered in close cooperation with a number of top quality research institutes, such as UC Berkeley (USA), the University of New South Wales (Australia), Tsinghua University (China) and international companies like ForthNet, Software AG, Accenture and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
This not only guarantees a curriculum that incorporates the latest developments in the field of software service engineering, but also stresses the global orientation of the program.
