Cohort Experience

One unique aspect of this programme is the IMSE cohort experience, which means that you will start and finish the programme with the same group of students. You will spend a semester in Germany, Greece and the Netherlands. The final semester is devoted to thesis work, which includes an internship in an internationally operating company or research institute either inside or outside Europe.

“The reality of the programme proved to be even more exciting and life changing than I could ever dream ofUVT_29073_Joseph 3904. Imagine three different universities, three different teaching styles and mix it up with our cohort of 20 classmates from 13 different countries across four continents and you will start to get the picture. It was great fun to travel around Europe together and we regularly threw dinner parties with traditional food prepared from our respective countries.”Merie Joseph from India, commenting on a cohort experience that will be very similar to that of IMSE

Because of this cohort set-up, we expect all applicants to have the capability and the willingness to work in teams with students from different cultural backgrounds on complex projects. In addition, applicants need to be able to communicate effectively in an intercultural setting and need to have an open attitude towards different views and opions.  In other words, applicants need to be able to appreciate cultural differences.
